ON-SITE TESTING LABORATORY
Detroit Radiant Products Company established the first certified off-site testing laboratory of manufacturers of gas infrared heating equipment. This on-site ISO/IEC 17025 certified testing laboratory enables continuous research and development of the latest technological advancements as well as in-house CSA product certification and review. Newly developed product lines receive their design certifications in this laboratory. Each approval takes only a few short weeks to complete as compared to months such a process can take at outside testing laboratories. This commitment to research and development enables Detroit Radiant Products to stay at the forefront of infrared and other modern day energy technologies.
There are other benefits to this laboratory at Detroit Radiant. On numerous occasions we have been able to test the effects on certain materials that are exposed to infrared energy, recreated field conditions that have posed problems, tested alternative venting and combustion air configurations, and dissect competitor’s products. This ‘problem solving’ aspect of our research has been beneficial to our customers and enlightens us to improvements we have made to our equipment.
DEDICATION TO EDUCATION
Detroit Radiant Products Company is committed to continuous educational efforts. Annual training seminars may focus on the ABC’s of infrared, the development of our distribution network, safety and/or specialized classes designed for professional installers, licensed state inspectors, contractors, representatives, distributors, and/or engineers. In addition to our in-house education program, the staff of Detroit Radiant Products conducted numerous other seminars in the field this past year. These presentations were given to engineers, large end user customers, distributors, and application specific groups. Detroit Radiant also offers one of the most complete Engineering Design and Application Guides for infrared heating available – outlining practical design criteria. This guide was created to assist engineers, distributors and contractors in applying the wide range of available products.
