The Macomb Group has added a location in Jeffersonville, Indiana, and relocated facilities in Michigan and North Carolina to meet growing demand and better serve our customers. Headquartered in Sterling Heights, Michigan, The Macomb Group has been supplying the Midwest region and beyond with pipe, valves, and fittings (PVF) for over 40 years.

Locations are strategically chosen to provide the best inter-branch support possible, allowing many major markets to receive same-day or next-day access to necessary materials. Our focus on customer service and high-quality products has led to us being ranked in the top 10 national industrial PVF distributors.

Jeffersonville, Indiana — Our newest addition and first Indiana branch

With many of our large customers located in southern Indiana, we felt that adding a branch in the region would set us apart from our competition and allow us to better serve their needs. We chose Jeffersonville because it’s minutes away from Metro Louisville, Kentucky, where many of our customers call home. The location was selected so we would have a larger presence in the area while having a branch minutes from the city.

Designed to meet local contractor needs while providing the best service possible, the location also serves as a southern inventory hub for the entire company. This new facility assists in achieving our goal to be the best stocked and service-oriented distributor in the region.

Midland, Michigan — A new location and facility, same town

The Macomb Group has had the pleasure of working in Midland for approximately 38 years. Our original facility was renovated and expanded multiple times to address growing needs. The functionality of our previous space no longer suited our business goals, and the company decided to move to a more modern and adaptable facility.

Ultimately, a building came on the market that previously housed a PVF company that had gone out of business. It was a perfect fit for our plans to create an open-air office environment with natural lighting and comfortable amenities for our employees and customers.

Our biggest challenge during this transition was to ensure no interruption of service. Our employees worked to enable a seamless move with no disruptions to customers. Not one order was delayed, and we did not shut down at any time during the move. Our customers always come first. We set a goal to shut down the old facility at 5 p.m. on a Friday and reopen in the new facility first thing Monday morning — and that’s exactly what we did.

Charlotte, North Carolina — A brand new office relocated from Matthews, North Carolina

The move to Charlotte consolidated three separate locations in the area to provide a single branch to serve existing customers while allowing for new growth in the Southeast region. After nearly two years of discussing needs and locations, we were able to locate a site with excellent access to several highways.

Our original focus was to create a high-functioning and scalable distribution center that would primarily serve customers in North Carolina, South Carolina, Tennessee, and Virginia, as well as our Greensboro, North Carolina, warehouse. We selected an 80,000 square foot blank canvas. Every aspect of the facility was custom designed and constructed to meet our needs, including the free-standing crane system that runs 400 feet down the length of the building.

As of present, the building operates as a warehouse. However, our objective is to ultimately have it function as a warehouse/distribution center as we add new branches or make further acquisitions in the region.

All of these office expansions highlight the strength of The Macomb Group in the PVF market and illustrate our ongoing commitment to serve our customers with the best possible products and service.
