HDPE

High Density Polyethylene (HDPE)

The Macomb Group has your back. We are introducing another new, innovative product — the high-density polyethylene (HDPE) pipe. These products are extremely durable, with a high bend radius, UV protected, and leak tight. How will this new product help our clients provide better service in a competitive business market?

Tough products for tough jobs — HDPE pipes

We ask a lot of our industrial piping solutions. The piping must work in aboveground applications under blistering UV rays or underground in low temperatures. It must withstand caustic chemicals and wearing saltwater in marine applications. Whether you’re carrying hazardous wastes, compressed gasses, or human waste, HDPE pipes withstand the rigors of the environment.

HDPE is a 100-year leak-free pipe that is more economical than alternatives. That’s why it’s a common solution in the oil, gas, and mining industries. When a pipe is the only thing that stands between your products and an environmental disaster, HDPE is the logical choice.

HDPE costs less to repair than all other industrial pipes on the market today. That’s exactly why The Macomb Group has selected it, and even offers fusion equipment in a one-stop-shop option for our clients.

For these reasons, The Macomb Group has partnered with industry leader Performance Pipe to offer our clients an always-in-stock solution of HDPE pipes for municipal, industrial, marine, mining, landfill, duct, and farming applications. HDPE piping offers industrial-quality solutions for applications where high-use durability directly impacts the bottom line.

Clear advantages to HDPE

There is such market demand now for HDPE that it’s hard to find on a job-by-job basis. The Macomb Group will take care of stocking; our runway is a 10- to 18-week delivery time. But that’s just one advantage to our new HDPE product line. Some of the other positives include:

  • Longer product lifecycle — HDPE does not corrode like traditional pipe. Heat-fused joints create a leak-tight seal that resists scale and biological build-up. HDPE virtually eliminates product breakage due to freezing.
  • Reduced installation costs — HDPE is perfect for directional boring across rivers. The pipe has a high bending radius and is more flexible than a traditional pipe. But fused joints handle the strain and are, in fact, stronger than the rest of the pipe.
  • Chemical and corrosion resistance — HDPE is a tried-and-true material used in a variety of difficult applications, from mining to dredging. HDPE will not need cathodic protection or other maintenance and is resistant to salts and corrosive acids. It will not accrue bacteria or fungi and will lay untouched by even the most wearing of soils. It can flex with earthquakes and withstand the lowest of temperatures to produce a secure line year after year.

HDPE is leak free precisely because of the way the pipes are fused. HDPE pipe joining extends beyond traditional heat fusion to include socket, butt, and sidewall fusion, along with electrofusion. It’s a unique solution that sets this conduit apart.
