Hersey Meters Company was re-organized in August of 1999 as a subsidiary of Mueller. Mueller, originally organized in 1857, was founded out of a need for better ways to control the flow of water in distribution systems. In May of 2006, Mueller Water Products, Inc. became a publicly traded company.

Mueller Water Products, Inc. includes US Pipe and Foundry, Anvil International, Hersey Meters, James Jones, Henry Pratt, Mueller Company and Mueller Canada. Mueller Water Products, Inc. operates across North America with more than 6,000 employees in modern manufacturing plants. The Hersey Meters manufacturing facility has been expanded to 142,000 square feet and achieved ISO 9002 in 1992. All Hersey Meter products are manufactured, assembled and tested using the most modern technologies, with emphasis on multi-station computerized machining and robotic assembly stations.
